Daikan大寒 is not so cold!?

HASUHANA hair salon

From 20th January to 2nd February, the day before Setsubun(division of seasons in Japanese) . We have entered the last season of the 24 seasons, "Daikan"(a coldset season's name).

I think it is warm in Hong Kong this year, but it seems that it's going to get cold from today!

I will wash my hands and gargle carefully to avoid catching a cold before the Lunar New Year.

I think it's very wonderful that we can feel many seasons in East Asia and that the food and things we love change accordingly. Although the temperature of the seasons is changing these days, I strongly hope that this customs will continue to be observed.

In Japan, 「Setsubun ceremony 」is a day before the first day of spring. We throw soybeans on Setsubun on 3rd February, but I wondered why. (It was such a common event since I was a child that I never thought about why it was on this day)

It made sense when I thought that throwing roasted soybeans is out the bad luck of the previous season and brings good fortune in the new season. (Sorry if I'm wrong...)

It is said that it is good to eat fresh eggs during this "Daikan".  Apparently, chickens don't lay many eggs when it's cold, and these precious eggs are packed with nutrients.

Are there any places in Hong Kong where you can eat freshly laid eggs?

If you know , please let me know☆

We are open on Mondays and Tuesdays before the Lunar New Year, which are our regular holidays. We still have openings, so we look forward to your reservation(^^*)
